DVD Branch of Local 300DVD has undergone several names over the years. In 1982 it was known as the Meadows Facility and employed about 340 mail handlers at that time. In the late 80s the name changed to the North Jersey Facility and at its peak we numbered close to 900 mail handlers. Early 1990s the name changed again to the current Dominick V Daniels Processing and Distribution Center and our mail handler compliment is about 480. The installation was named after a local Congressman from the area. The facility has always been located at its current location but when it first opened, all the employees from " Truck Terminal" in Hoboken came over to DVD in 1972. DVD still has mail handlers from the truck terminal days. The branch had stable leadership throughout its history with former branch president Bernie Schramm accounting for well over 20 years of that position. Cliff Golden served in that capacity as well along with years as a chief steward.
