The Executive Board is the highest governing body of the
Local Union.
Paul Hogrogian started as a Mail Handler in 1976. He has been representing the Mail Handler craft since 1984 when he first became a shop steward at the New Jersey Bulk Mail Center. Brother Hogrogian held his first elected position on the Local 300 Executive Board when he became Local 300's Recording Secretary in 1988, which is also when he first began his duties as an Arbitration Advocate. Paul was elected as Vice President of Local 300 in 1990, which is also when he began assuming the duties of contract administration for Local 300. In 2002, Paul was elected to his current position of President for Local 300. In February of 2005, he joined the National Executive Board as its Northeast Region Vice President.
Robert "Bobby" Blum started as a Mail Handler in 1981 at the NJI/BMC. He has been a shop steward since 1989. Bobby has been Branch President of the Monmouth Branch (New Jersey) since 1990. He was elected to the position of Recording Secretary in 1999, a position he held until 2002. Then In 2002, "Bobby" was elected to his current position of Vice President for Local 300. Brother Blum is also an Arbitration Advocate.
Kevin Tabarus started as a Mail Handler in 1987. He started representing the Mail Handler craft in 1990 when he first became a shop steward at Hicksville, on Long Island. Later he was certified as the Chief Steward of the Mid Island P&DC. In 2001, Brother Tabarus was appointed as Branch President of the NY PMPC (now NY L&DC) Branch at Bethpage, NY and was elected to that position in 2002 & 2005. Brother Tabarus was Branch President at Bethpage until 2007. In July of 2007, Kevin joined the Executive Board as Treasurer for Local 300. Kevin is also an Arbitration Advocate for Local 300. He has also been assigned to various projects such as the Editor for the Local 300 Newsletter and this Local 300 webpage. In addition, he has also worked with the National Office on the new grievance tracking system, GAINS2.
Linda Yancey has been a Mail Handler since 1986 and works in the Queens Processing & Distribution Center in Flushing, NY. In 1992, Linda began her advocacy first as a Shop Steward and later held the position of Chief Shop Steward. In 2002, Sister Yancey was appointed to the Executive Board as the Recording Secretary; and at the next general election in 2005, was elected to the position. In 2004 Linda established the first successful women's committee, "The Local 300 Women's Caucus" and holds the position of Chairperson. Linda is also an Arbitration Advocate. The Caucus has proven beneficial to men and women for all issues, on and off the job.
Andy Piacente has been a Mail Handler and Union member since 1977. He first became a Steward in 1979, and has held various positions and performed numerous functions in the Union during his career. He served as the AVP/Branch President of the Westchester Branch from 1981 through 2002. Andy served as a delegate to the 2000, 2004 and 2008 NPMHU Conventions. Andy is also an Arbitration Advocate.
Charlie Price started as a Mail Handler in 1977 at the New Jersey Bulk Mail Center. He became a shop steward in 1992. Brother Price joined the Local 300 Executive Board when he became Local 300's New Jersey State Executive Board Member in 2001. Charlie is also an Arbitration Advocate for Local 300.
Tom Ruther began his career as a Mail Handler in 1994. He became a Shop Steward in 1996. In 1999 Brother Ruther was elected to the position of Connecticut State Executive Board Member. Tom has been an Arbitration Advocate since 2001 and in 2006 was appointed by the National Office to the RI 399 arbitration advocacy team for craft jurisdictional dispute cases. For years, Brother Ruther has organized our annual Mets social activity.
