Save the NJI-BMC Press Conference

10/27/08 Jersey City, NJ

In a joint effort with the APWU, Local 300 participated in a press conference outside the employee entrance from NJI-BMC in Jersey City, NJ. Several political leaders were there to show their support to protest the plans by the Postal Service to privatize the work that is done at Bulk Mail Centers across the country. NJ Congressman Albio Sires (D-13th Dist.), NJ Congressman Payne (D-10th Dist.), Jersey City Mayor Healy. Officers from the National Postal Mail Handlers Union Local 300 were present, Paul Hogrogian - Local 300 President & NPMHU NE Regional Vice President, Kevin Tabarus - Local 300 Treasurer, & Thomas Mullahey - Branch President NJI/BMC, along with officials from the APWU, Stewards, and 200 to 300 employees from the NJI-BMC.
